Welcome to the on-line home of Gary Blanchard. Gary began playing guitar and performing in coffeehouses in the Baltimore area in the 1960's. Gary was drawn to the music of the early 1960's "folk scare" and continues to perform original and traditional folk songs on acoustic guitar and a long-neck, 5-string banjo. Central themes of Gary's music are hope, peace, love, and social struggle. Gary combines a respect for old music with an interest in new music in performances that include audience participation.
